Kamnik Veronika room
Kamnik, according to the words of the great geographer Anton Melik, is the largest and most significant site on the Bistriška plain, which forms an integral part of the Ljubljana basin, and its ancient demographical centre. We like to refer to Kamnik as the town beneath the Kamniške mountains because it was formed beneath the southern hillsides of the Kamniško-Savinjske Alps and at the confluence of the Kamniška Bistrica and Nevljica rivers.
Medieval city Kamnik is well-known for the countess Veronika. Legend says she was quite a stingy person. She refused to share her wealth with other people and this is why she became cursed - together with her treasure she vanished under the ruins of the castle. Very educational, isn't it? ;)
